MINISTRY TEAMS

The Bible teaches us that God's people should be "prepared for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up." At Marion Christian Center we believe that everyone has a part to play in the life of the church. The heart of our vision is for each person to demonstrate the realness of God. One way this happens is through our various ministry teams.

Some ministry teams require specific training in order to join.

For more information about becoming involved on a team or receiving training, please contact our Main Office by phone at (740) 389-2910

Small Group Ministry Team
We are a church of Small Groups! New Small Groups are forming every season and we always have need of more Small Group Leaders and Small Group Hosts!

Small Group Leaders: The Leader's role is to shepherd a small group of believers through care and discipleship towards Christ-likeness. The best Small Group Leaders have the heart of a pastor.

Commitment: Weekly for at least a season of 3 months (ideally for 1 year).

Team Leader: Pastor Perry Payne

Small Group Hosts: The Host's role is critical to the success of our small groups. The Host creates and maintains their group's meeting space (usually the Host's home). The best Hosts are genuinely warm, friendly, welcoming, and kind to both friends and strangers. The Host provides a physical and emotional setting conducive for a small group of believers to grow as friends and toward maturity in Christ. Hosts practice the gift of hospitality.

Commitment: Weekly for at least a season of 3 months (ideally for 1 year).

Team Leader: Pastor Perry Payne
Prophetic Ministry Team
Prophetic Ministry Team Members speak words of encouragement, edification, comfort, and strength in the spirit of 1 st Corinthians 14:1 and 3: "Pursue love and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy... He who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men." We desire to serve all those who sign up for prophetic ministry at Friday Night at the Center. We sincerely desire to hear from the Lord on behalf of those coming for ministry, so that they may be encouraged and built up in their faith.

Special Training is required for members of the Prophetic Ministry Team.

Commitment: Monthly on the 1 st Friday night and when available or requested during Sunday morning services.

Team Leaders: Denny Ferguson, Deb Ferguson, and Diana Garlough
Personal Ministry Team
This team is available at the end of our Sunday morning services to pray with and/or for anyone who desires prayer. This is strictly prayer with no counseling or prophetic ministry. Personal Prayer Ministry is a vital part of demonstrating the realness, power and presence of God. In fact, you might find it hard to be at the Marion Christian Center without having someone offer to pray for you or be given the opportunity to be trained to pray for others. For us, ministering to others personally is considered an important expression of "normal" Christianity.

Special training is required to serve on this team. Contact church office for more info.

Commitment: One Sunday per month.

Team Leaders: Tom and Myra Milligan
Healing Team
Our Healing Teams will pray for people in the church and they may also go out and pray for people in the hospital, in their homes, or just about anywhere. The teams are made up of two or more people who love to pray for others and are trained to pray effectively, expressing God's heart to those in need.

All of us go through times when we need healing for different reasons in our lives. At times we deal with sickness, disease, pain, anxiety, fear, and depression, just to name a few. We believe that God loves to bring healing and wholeness to our lives and He uses ordinary people to minister today just like Jesus did when He lived on Earth. It is our desire that every person who receives prayer would experience God's healing and feel loved.

Special training is provided for those who love to see God come and touch others through emotional and physical healing. Contact church office for more info.

Commitment: As available; when needed or requested.

Team Leaders: Josh and Amanda Cooper
